8th GRADE CULTURE

Greetings 8th grade parents and students! Welcome to the inaugural Spanish Culture class! On these pages you will find information about our class and tips and resources to help you succeed. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.

As an Exploratory, your child will have approximately 90 days of Spanish during the school year...that's every other day for the entire year. Each class period is 38 minutes and the Culture class has approximately 12 students.

Course Content

This course will focus on the universal elements of culture and tradition that transcend political boundaries. As part of the Spanish program, we will identify Spanish speaking countries around the world and explore the similarities and difference between their cultures and our own. We will also explore the ancient civilizations of Mesoamerica and examine the impact they have had on our own civilization and culture.
